Drivers Jo Siffert and Brian Redman Le Mans is a 1971 American racing film depicting a fictional 24 Hours of Le Mans auto race starring Steve McQueen and directed by Lee H. Katzin. The film began as a John Sturges project, before he was replaced during filming. It features actual footage captured during the 1970 race held the previous June. The film stars McQueen as Michael Delaney, an American driver who returns to Le Mans to avenge the death of his teammate in the previous year’s race. He faces off against his German rival, Erich Stahler (Siegfried Rauch), in a battle of wills and machines.
